After a short delay and a few days later than expected, Samsung is finally ready to deliver the Android 16 beta to more Galaxy devices. Aspreviously announced, Samsung has released the One UI 8 (Android 16) beta for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and more.
Nearly three months after the first betas startedrolling out for the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung seems to be making solid progress on releasing the new software for all phones. That’s because today, as spotted by people on Twitter/X, the One UI 8 beta is now available for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6.

Last week, Samsung confirmed the rollout and stated it would begin on August 11th. While a few select regions may have seen it arrive, those were few and far between. Now, a few days later, we can officially confirm that One UI 8 for all the above-mentioned devices can enroll in the beta program.
As of this morning, the One UI 8 beta was available for the S24 series and Fold/Flip 6 in South Korea and the UK, and now it’s slowly rolling out in the United States and select other regions.

How to Join the One UI 8 Beta for the Galaxy S24
For those interested, the easiest (and only) way to officially try this test software is through the Samsung Members app, similar to previous years.
You’ll need to download theSamsung Members app, sign in or create an account, and look for the beta sign-up tab near the top of the home feed. It’s worth noting that Samsung typically only allows a select number of beta testers, so you had better act fast.
Once you enroll in the beta, you can manually head to settings and check for updates or wait for the over-the-air beta update to hit your phone. We recommend downloading it over Wi-Fi, as it’s quite large (over 3GB), and then you’ll be all set.
The update to One UI 8 brings many changes, enhancements, and new features. As a reminder, the broaderofficial release of One UI 8isn’t expected until sometime in September, and that’ll vary by device as well. That said, once it does start rolling out to the latest Galaxy S25 first, the next devices in line are likely the Galaxy S24 family of phones, Z Fold devices, and the newest Galaxy A-series.
If you’re still using an older phone like the Galaxy S23 or Galaxy Z Fold 5, Samsung said those devices will join the beta near the end of August. So, you only have a few more weeks to wait.
In closing, remember that this is beta software meant for testing and may not be 100% stable for daily usage. I’ve had no issues on the One UI 8 beta, but if you don’t want to deal with the hassle, it’s best to wait for the official launch in September and October.
