T-Mobile and its prepaid brand, Metro by T-Mobile, have rolled out major updates to their service plans. T-Mobile’s plans are expensive but feature-packed, and Metro keeps the low price points we’d expect.

T-Mobile’s update focuses on Experience More and Experience Beyond. Experience More offers all the perks of the Go5G Plus plan, like two-year device upgrades, along with more hotspot data. Experience Beyond, which is considered T-Mobile’s best value plan, includes everything from Go5G Next, plus significant boosts in high-speed data for use across North America and internationally, along with satellite connectivity via T-Satellite. It also significantly increases international high-speed data to 15GB and includes a huge 250GB of monthly high-speed mobile hotspot data.

Both Experience plans also include access to a top entertainment bundle featuring Apple TV+, Hulu, and Netflix, with subscriptions to MLS Season Pass and MLB.TV for the whole season. They also come with Magenta Status perks, but at a fairly high cost.

The prices for the Experience plans will depend on how many lines are on your service. Here’s what you can expect to pay, according to a T-Mobile representative:

T-Mobile is also providing incentives to help customers switch from AT&T and Verizon. Through their “Family Freedom” program, customers can receive up to $800 per line to pay off outstanding device balances, even on locked devices. Customers who don’t need help with device payments can get a $200 credit per line when they switch. T-Mobile claims that families making the switch can save 20% monthly compared to equivalent AT&T and Verizon plans, including streaming services.

There’s also a 30-day satisfaction guarantee offering $125 for any unhappy customers. The biggest downside to many of these plans is the high cost. Experience More and Beyond is amazingly expensive, but it comes with a lot. To me, this sounds like a luxury phone plan, where you get a lot of benefits for a high cost. One line at $105 is a high cost to ask for, but for those that can afford it, it is likely worth it.

Metro Flex Unlimited Plan:

Metro Flex Unlimited Plus Plan:

One of the main features of all new T-Mobile and Metro plans is a 5-year price guarantee on talk, text, and data. Existing Metro Flex customers and those on the BYOD plan will also benefit from this 5-year guarantee. However, T-Mobile hasfound ways to increase pricing on plans advertised with “price lock"in the past, so they could try similar moves with these plans.

If you’re interested in switching over to T-Mobile or Metro, now sounds like a good time.
