Summary

The Satechi OntheGo 3-in-1 can simultaneously charge your iPhone, AirPods Pro, and Apple Watch. The small, compact charger can fold up and placed in the travel pouch when on the go. A USB-C cable is included.
Price and Availability
The Satechi OntheGo 3-in-1 retails for $99.99 and can be purchased from Amazon, directly from Satechi, and other retailers. Alternatively, if you don’t want to charge AirPods at the same time, the Satechi OntheGo 2-in-1 is $79.99. There are three colors of each option to choose from—black, sand, and desert rose.
Small and Portable
By far, my favorite part of the OntheGo 3-in-1 is the small and compact design. When not in use, all three charging discs magnetically attach to each other and can be placed in the included travel bag. When folded, it’s smaller than a coaster and a bit taller. That makes it so easy to fit in even the smallest bag. It also weighs just 5.12oz. It’s covered with a leather-like material that feels soft to the touch.
When you’re ready to charge, the charger measures a little less than 10 inches long, so you should be able to find somewhere to place it in a hotel room or elsewhere. Satechi does provide an almost 40-inch USB-C cord, which is good news.
Something that is missing is a USB-C power adapter. Satechi recommends at least a 36W adapter for the fastest possible charging. At a $99.99 retail price, that’s something I’d like to see included, as you might likely have a powerful adapter lying around. But even if you don’t, you may easily attach the cable to a laptop like I did with my MacBook Air.
On the left is the Qi2 port for an iPhone or other handset. Both MagSafe and non-MagSafe iPhone models are supported. If you don’t have a MagSafe handset, though, you will need to use a MagSafe case or magnetic attachment for a secure fit.
In the middle, where the USB-C cable is inserted, is the AirPods disc. On the right side is the Apple Watch charging disc. While you can place the wearable device flat on the charger, it can also be angled up by pulling the built-in divot for Nightstand Mode. It also supports fast charging for compatible Apple Watch models.
Your iPhone can charge at a maximum of 15W, while the AirPods charging is up to 5W.
I used the OntheGo 3-in-1 multiple times and had no issues charging any of my devices. The magnetic attachment on my iPhone was especially strong, and is always a good sign to know that you won’t wake up in the morning with a dead handset. The charger and devices also didn’t get warm when charging, which is something that often happens with other small chargers.
A Fun Trick for StandBy Mode
StandBy Mode is one of my favorite iPhone features ever. Instead of having to worry about an alarm clock, I can always glance over in the middle of the night and see the time and other information I want, like the temperature outside. Even though the OntheGo 3-in-1 usually charges your iPhone flat, there is a quick trick to enable StandBy mode.
Just attach the AirPods charger with the iPhone disc, allowing you to place the iPhone in a landscape orientation while charging. Even though you’ll lose the ability to charge your AirPods, they usually charge so quickly it wasn’t a problem for me. With that extra-strong magnet on the iPhone charger, my handset didn’t wobble or move all night even with me tapping the screen.
Should You Buy the Satechi OntheGo 3-in-1?
If you’re an Apple user who wants to cut down on taking a mass of charging cables when traveling or for just everyday use, theSatechi OntheGo 3-in-1is very impressive.
The small footprint is by far its top feature, being able to fold into a small disc when not in use. It also provides great charging speed and will juice up all of your Apple items in no time. While the $99.99 retail price of the 3-in-1 is a bit on the high side compared to other options, the small size makes it worth it. But if you want to save some cash, you can simply opt forSatechi’s 2-in-1option with the same design and charge two devices at the same time.
