Summary

Power banks are fine when you need to recharge some of your mobile devices on the go, but when you go completely off-grid and you have more serious power needs, you need something better. If you haven’t bought yourself a power station, this Anker one can go from 0 to 100% faster than your small power bank.

Anker has just revealed the SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 portable power station. Like other power stations, it’s about the size of a briefcase and can be lugged around, and it provides plenty of power for off-grid charging. There are a few reasons why this one might be worth it over the competition, though. It has a pretty substantial 1024Wh capacity, and it can output around 2000W, making it good for powering your phone, your laptop, and even a number of appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves, and even air conditioners.

But it doesn’t end there. Anker has integrated its proprietary HyperFlash technology, which allows the power station to be recharged to 100% in a mere 49 minutes when using a wall outlet with a maximum input of 1600W. This feature is accessible through an “UltraFast Charge Mode” in the companion app, and allows you to grab a full charge in a pinch when you do come across a wall outlet. For those who prefer off-grid charging, the device also supports a 600W solar input.

The SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 utilizes 3rd-generation Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries, which are known for their enhanced safety and extended lifespan compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries. Paired with what Anker calls its InfiniPower technology, we have a battery that can apparently endure up to 4,000 charge cycles. In addition to its portable power capabilities, the SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 also works as an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). It’s UL1778 certified and provides a seamless transition to battery power in the event of a blackout, with a switchover time of less than 10ms.

It includes five AC outlets, two high-power 140W USB-C ports, an additional 15W USB-C port, a 12W USB-A port, and a 120W car cigarette lighter port, and it can charge or power up to 10 devices and appliances at once. It weighs in at 24.9 lbs (11.3 kg) and measures 15.1 x 8.2 x 9.6 inches, and according to Anker, it is 14% smaller and lighter than many other power stations with similar capacities (we’re not sure what exact models Anker is comparing this against, but it’s decently small and light), making it easier to transport and store.

We don’t have pricing or availability information, but theAnker SOLIX websiteshould be updated soon with that.
