PC gamers benefit from having multiple game storefronts and Android gamers are starting to do the same. There are already several games on the Epic Games Store that are currently not available via Google’s official Play Store.
Why? Some of these games come directly from Epic. At least one game was on the Play Store in the past. I wouldn’t be too surprised if at least one were to appear there again in the future. But here’s a list that’s accurate to our current moment in time (in May 2025).
8Eastern Exorcist
Eastern Exorcistis a gorgeous 2D side-scrolling action game that can be described as a Chinese ink painting violently coming to life. You play as one of two exorcists fighting against hordes of dark spirits and monsters.
The combat is intense, and this is the sort of game where you can expect to die a lot. Then die again. It comes from Wildfire Games and has been available in Steam since 2021, where it holds very positive reviews.
7Fall Guys
Fall Guysis a game that has achieved enough fame that it seemingly needs no introduction. But if you’re like me, there’s a chance you have both never played it and have never even looked into it. So introductions are still in order.
Fall Guys can be thought of as Mario Party for a new generation. It’s a wacky and adorable platform battle game where players compete in various minivans. There’s no game board, so my comparison to Map Party is more about vibes than substance. Epic acquiredFall Guysfrom Device Digital in 2022 and made it free-to-play, like the other first-party Epic titles that will appear on this list.
6Figment
Figmentis a top-down isometric action game reminiscent ofBastionandHades, but with a substantially lower body count. At its core,Figmentis an imaginative story about grief and trauma. The game takes place in the mind of a young boy who has survived a violent event and suffered great loss. The music is perhaps what distinguishes this game most, with bosses singing their own songs throughout each fight.
This game first launched in 2017. A few years ago, you could download it for Android from the Play Store. These days, when I perform a search on my Galaxy Z Fold 6 as well as from a Pixel 6, both running Android 15, it’s nowhere to be found.
5Figment 2: Creed Valley
The sequel brings back the same protagonist and hand-crafted visuals of the original game. In this release, developer Bedtime Digital Games brings back the same two original characters for a new plot.
A short prologue arrived in 2021, with the full game arriving two years later. A mobile port has not yet come to Google Play, and it has even only reached the Apple App Store in beta. So it’s no small thing to see the full game available now through Epic.
4The Forest Quartet
This is the third game on this list from Bedtime Digital Games. There are two threads that all three have in common. One is a musical theme. The other is a plot centered around processing grief.
InThe Forest Quartet, you play as the ghost of a recently deceased band member, solving puzzles and hearing the memories of the surviving band members. This is one of the gamesI’ve personally purchased from the Epic Games Store.
Unfortunately, this game doesn’t yet play well on my Galaxy Z Fold 6, with parts of the title screen being cut off and, more frustratingly, touch targets that are hard to activate, leading me to just tap parts of the screen randomly. This is one to watch for updates, because the premise and visuals are worth it.
3Fortnite
Fortniteis a phenom, and it’s likely to be the #1 reason many people seek out the Epic Games Store. This online multiplayer shooter is a darling Epic launched in 2017 that has since amassed over a hundred million players.
There are various game modes, with the most popular betting a giant death match where 100 players are dropped into a battle to see who is left the last person standing. There’s a good chance you’ve already playedFortniteat this point. Even so, it may be fine to play it again.
2Rocket League Sideswipe
Rocket League Sideswipeis a mobile adaptation ofRocket League, a sports game where cars play soccer. Yes, if you’ve never heard ofRocket Leaguebefore, you did read that correctly.
Rocket Leaguecomplete the trifecta of online multiplier titles from Epic that have each had unfathomable success.
People want to play these games on their phones, and they’re not available on the Play Store.
1Super Space Club
I like arcade shooters, and I like lo-fi music—soSuper Space Club, a top-down shooter that aims to be more chill than intense thanks to its lo-fi soundtrack, really caught my eye when I first stumbled on it in the Epic Store.
I was pleased to see the game go on sale as Epic’s free game of the week as I write this. Depending on when you read this, you may have a few days to grab it for free, too. Yet even if you miss out, the regular price of $4 is a steal compared to the $15 it costs for PC.
The insane popularity of Epic’s first-party titles guarantees the store will appear on many people’s phones. What remains to be seen is how many people then browse the marketplace for other titles. I have my fingers crossed. ThePlay Store needs competition, andI’ve already downloaded the Epic Games Storedespite not having an interest in free-to-play games. I hope wesee even more PC portsmake their way to our phones.
